Simultaneous Naming Ceremony of Dorian LPG’s Four

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) held a simultaneous naming ceremony of four LPG carriers ordered by the US-based Dorian LPG on July 15. The ships were named Constitution, Commodore, Cheyenne and Clermont, respectively. They are to be delivered from August to October this year.

The naming ceremony was held in the presence of Mr. John Lycouris, CEO of Dorian LPG; Mr. Ha Kyeong-jin, CEO of HSHI; and 100 other guests.

The fleet measures 225 m in length, 36.6 m in width and 22.2 m in depth. Equipped with 16,628 bhp engines, they can sail at the speed of 16.8 knots. Each of these four LPG carriers has a cargo capacity of 84,000 ㎥, equivalent to the volume that can fuel one million LPG-powered Hyundai Sonatas.

HSHI received orders for 10 LPG ships from Dorian LPG to date, out of which two were delivered in June this year.

LPG carriers are a mainstay product for HSHI this year, representing 24% of the full-year shipbuilding target. HSHI seeks for outstanding quality and strict process management to ensure a successful delivery of the fleet.
