Naming Ceremony for HMM’s 9,000 TEU Methanol Dual-Fuel Vessel
HD Hyundai Samho held a naming ceremony on the 20th at its Yeongam headquarters for a 9,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessel ordered by HMM.
The ship was named "HMM CLOVER" during the event.
It is the fourth of seven vessels ordered by HMM, featuring a length of 274.76m, a beam of 45.60m, a height of 24.80m, and a state-of-the-art methanol dual-fuel propulsion system.
Methanol, which emits significantly lower levels of SOx, NOx, and greenhouse gases compared to conventional marine fuels, is emerging as a next-generation eco-friendly energy source, and the ceremony was attended by officials including Oceans and Fisheries Minister Jeon Jae-soo and Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, along with executives from both companies.
