Tandem Launching Block equipped with propeller
HSHI won success in launching a tandem block of a 319,000-dwt VLCC equipped with propeller.
Until now, in case of construction procedure of VLCC, main engine and shaft are installed before tandum launching and propeller is installed after tandem launching.
However, all of main engine, shaft and propeller were installed before tandem launching this time.
It is expected that the new construction technique will increase dock-rotating rate and improve productivity through advanced construction procedure as well as safety improvement.
HSHI has a plan to apply the new construction technique to containerships, LPG carriers as well as tankers hereafter.
