Construction Work for LNGC Commenced

The first steel cutting for a 177,000㎥ LNG carrier ordered by MOL of Japan was carried out in HSHI on March 17.
The 177,000㎥ LNG carrier is the largest LNG carrier to be built in HSHI and will measure 298m in length, 46m in width, 26.8m in depth with a service speed of 19.5 knots.
At present, five gas carriers are under construction in HSHI, including a 155,000㎥ LNG carrier ordered by BP Shipping of England, a 155,000㎥ LNG carrier ordered by Teekay of Canada, a 177,000㎥ LNG carrier ordered by MOL of Japan and two 82,000㎥ LPG carriers ordered by AMPTC of Kuwait, while HSHI delivered two 82,000㎥ LPG carriers to A.P. Moller of Denmark in 2007.
