- HSHI delivers 15,000 TEU containership ordered from Kuwait’s UASC
- 2015 sales and order target set at 4.6 trillion Korean won and $3.8 billion, respectively


HSHI reported that it delivered its first ship of the year, a 15,000 TEU containership, in the attendance of Mohamed Zaitoun, chief technology officer of UASC on January 2, 2015.

The ship, christened Al Murabba, measures 368 m in length, 51 m in breadth and 30 m in depth which, in other words, is equivalent to three football fields. Ordered by Kuwait’s UASC, the ultra-large containership can haul 15,000 20-foot containers.

The steel cutting ceremony was held in March 2014, and keel laying to launching took place from July to November 2014, leading up to delivery this time.

UASC has awarded contracts for a total of 11 mega-size containerships to HSHI including eight 15,000 TEU and three 18,800 TEU containerships in August 2013.

HSHI plans to achieve 4.6 trillion Korean won in sales and $3.8 billion in new orders this year.
