Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) developed an automation system to indicate and mark heat lines on the large steel plates for curve shape fabrication. After one year of joint project with Seoul National University, HSHI’s CAD team held an announcement ceremony for the completion of the automation system on March 24.

To date, fabrication of large curve-shaped steel plates depended on the workers’ experience. But with the new automation system, large curve-shaped steel plates can be fabricated with precision based on the 3D information.

The system is easy to operate and HSHI expects it will improve the company’s productivity and efficiency for fabrication quality curve-shape steel plates.
