Beginning with the first ship built in 1999, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries hit the industry milestone of 10 million DWT (deadweight tonnes) of ships built in 2003, reaching this milestone faster than any other company. In 2019, more than 84 million DWT vessels were built. Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries has grown into a world-class shipyard capable of building approximately 40 ships annually today.

Starting with the construction of the world's first LNG-fuel-powered crude oil carrier, the company is leading the eco-friendly ship building (Green Ship) market by building various kinds of LNG-fuel-powered ships, including container ships and bulk carriers, in commitment to the global cause of reducing marine pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. In order to cope with the recent increase in global demand for LNG carriers, we have established a continuous construction system capable of completing eight LNG carriers annually so that we can continue to deliver all our high-performance, high-quality ships on time.
