Management and Labor Union of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Stands United to Secure New Orders

As a dearth of new orders persists, management and labor union of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) held hands together by sending thank you letters to 21 shipowners in appreciation of their patronage and partnership.

In the letter written in the name of Yoon Moon-gyun, President & CEO and You young-chang, Leader of Labor Union, the president said “We will do utmost to remain in a robust and competitive company with priorities on building quality and meeting all scheduled delivery dates.”

Sending the letter is a part of HSHIS endeavors to tackle rapidly falling order books. HSHI that has been building about 40 ships a year just won eight ships to date this year. It expects about 30% decline in the work volume next year.

An HSHI official said, “As management and labor union are making joint efforts to secure new orders and to sharpen competitiveness, we hope to see new orders coming in the near future.”
