Three Quayside Cranes Ordered
HSHI received an order for three quayside cranes from Panama Ports Company S.A. (PPC), an affiliate of Hutchison Port Holdings Limited. (HPH).
HPH, as world's leading port developer and operator, is operating 219 berths in 39 ports along with a number of transportation related service companies. In 2004, the HPH Group handled 47.8 million TEU.
The cranes will be delivered to PPC at Balboa port in Panama in July, 2006. PPC is currently operating nine quayside cranes at Balboa port and all the cranes were supplied by HHI. If the new three cranes are delivered to PPC, the number of units will increase to twelve, which surely can provide better service for container box handling in this area.
The new cranes will be designed in Post-Panamax size with 51 Ton lifting capacity under spreader.
