Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries held the first ship naming ceremony in 2019. It took place at the company on the 18th of January in the presence of Mr. Pai Keng Pheng, the owner of SENTEK Marine & Trading Service with 80 persons concerned.
On this day's event, the ship was named “PACIFIC M” by Ms. Pai Guat Hoon, Mr. Pai’s sister.

HSHI received orders for two 300,000 DWT crude oil carriers from the buyers in April 2017. With such a new vessel, they will enter into the chartering services for the first time even though their main business has been bunkering in Singapore.

The vessels will be delivered in January and May, with 330 meters as long as three soccer fields, 60 meters wide, and a depth of 29.6 meters.
In particular, eco-friendly equipments that can reduce harmful gases such as sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides in order to comply with IMO environmental regulations, and various advanced devices which can decrease friction with seawater to reduce fuel costs are installed.

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries plans to deliver 35 vessels, including LNG carriers, container ships, etc and aim to reach an order of US $ 4.4 billion for this year.

An employee of the company said, "Challenging in business environment seems to last, but sales are expected to increase by 30% compared to last year, and the local economy is expected to be enhanced."
