HSHI won 1.3 billion dollar order for seven ships

- 6 VLCSs and 1 LNGC…… Close to 30% of the annual goal for new orders.

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries  received 1.3 billion dollars worth of shipbuilding work, seven ships, including six Very Large Container Ships and one Liquefied Natural Gas(LNG) carrier, on January 4, 2022.

Six 15,000 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit) liquefied natural gas-powered container ships will be delivered gradually to European-based shipping company beginning in the first half of 2024. These ships will meet the stringent environmental regulations of the International Maritime Organization by being equipped with LNG dual fuel propulsion engines.

The 174,000 cbm LNG carrier will be 289.9m long, 46.1m wide, and 26.3m high, and is scheduled to be delivered to Asia-based shipping company in the second half of 2024. Not only dual fuel propulsion engine, but various eco-friendly technologies such as LNG re-liquefaction technology are being used on this carrier.

Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries aims to win a total of 4.6 billion dollars worth of orders this year, including 30 ships.  With this order, it has already achieved nearly 30% of its goal.
