HSHI  secured orders for a total of six vessels, including LNG carriers and LPG carriers

HD KSOE(HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering) announced on January 10th that from the 4th (Thursday) to the 9th (Tuesday) of this month, they signed shipbuilding contracts for a total of 25 vessels with overseas companies located in Europe, Oceania, Asia, and the Middle East.

The contracts include two Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLAC), 15 Medium-sized Product Carriers (PC), six Very Large Liquefied Petroleum Gas Carriers (VLGC), and two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers. The total contract amount is KRW 2.82 trillion.

On the 9th (Tuesday), HD KSOE secured contracts from a Middle Eastern shipping company for four LPG carriers with a capacity of 88,000 cubic meters, equipped with dual-fuel propulsion engines, and two LNG carriers with a capacity of 174,000 cubic meters.

The total contract amount is KRW 1.258 trillion. All six vessels will be constructed at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Yeongam, South Jeolla Province, and are scheduled to be delivered to the shipowners by the second half of 2027.

On the 5th (Friday), HD KSOE also received an order from an Oceania-based shipping company for two Very Large Ammonia Carriers with a capacity of 88,000 cubic meters. These carriers, capable of passing through the Old Panama Canal, are equipped with LPG dual-fuel propulsion engines. The total contract amount is KRW 317.3 billion, and they will be built at Ulsan Hyundai Heavy Industries and delivered to the shipowners by the first half of 2027.

Subsequently, on the 8th (Monday), HD KSOE successfully secured contracts for 15 Medium-sized Product Carriers from an Asian shipping company, with a total value of KRW 9.425 trillion. These PC ships, with dimensions of 183m in length, 32.2m in width, and 19.1m in height, will be constructed at Ulsan Hyundai Mipo Dockyard and delivered sequentially by the second half of 2026.

Prior to this, on the 4th (Thursday), HD KSOE opened the door to its first order of the year by signing a construction contract for two 88,000 cubic meter LPG carriers.

A representative from HD KSOE stated, "We have been receiving continuous inquiries for ship orders across various types since the beginning of the year," and emphasized, "While maintaining a stable order backlog, we will enhance profitability through selective orders focusing on high-value ships."
