Construction for Tidal Current Power Plant

HSHI joined construction for trial tidal current power plant with a capacity of 1,000kw at Uldulmok Passage in Korea. It will be the biggest trial power plant in the world to use fast seawater current as well as if it is developed for commercial use, it will be the first time in the world.

The whole construction work will be carried out by Hyundai Engineering _ Construction Co., Ltd. and HSHI will construct jackets and deliver in February, 2006, while the whole construction work for the plant will be completed in 2007.

Uldulmok Passage is 294m in wide, about the width of the Han River in Seoul and the water flows at 11 knots/hour, the fastest seawater current in all of Asia.
