Naming for 319,000-dwt VLCC
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., LTD.(HSHI) held a naming ceremony for a 319,000-dwt VLCC ordered by DORIAN (HELLAS) S.A. of Greece on April 20, 2005.
The ship was named CHRYSANTHEMUM by Mrs. Darcy Hadjipateras in the presence of Mr. John Hadjipateras, owner of DORIAN (HELLAS) S.A., together with his family, Mr. Christos Zoidis, general manager of DORIAN (HELLAS) S.A., Mr. Lee Youn-jae, president _ C.E.O of HSHI, Mr. Kang Soo-hyun, senior executive vice president of HSHI and 50 other guests.
It measures 333m in length, 60m in width and 30.4m in depth with a service speed of 15.3 knots.
During the naming cermony, Mr. John Hadjipateras was confident that the vessel was the most morden and beautiful of all, so that he awarded plaque to HSHI people and contributed a good sum of donation to HSHI in appreciation of the worker’s efforts for successful construction of her.
