Construction Work for FPSO Commenced

The first steel cutting for a 321,000-dwt AKPO FPSO ordered by Total of France was carried out on April 14.

HHI made a newbuilding contract for the FPSO with the owner in May, 2005 and HSHI will build Hull part and living quarter.

The FPSO measures 310m in length, 61m in width, 30.5m in depth with 13 cargo holds and will refine 188,000 barrels of crude oil a day in the sea near Nigeria after delivery.

At present, HSHI is exerting itself to the utmost for diversification of newbuilding projects, such as FPSO, LNG/LPG carriers, PCTC, etc.
