Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) won the largest order in the world as a single contract worth US$ 1.2 billion from ZIM of Israel for five 10,000 TEU containerships and four 8,200 TEU containerships.
The 10,000 TEU containership will measure 349m in length, 45.6m in width, 27.3m in depth with a service speed of 25.8 knots.
The 8,200 TEU containership will measure 334m in length, 42.8m in width, 24.8m in depth with a service speed of 25.6 knots.
As a result of this order, as for gigantic containership orders over 8,000 TEU, HSHI has a backlog of 22 containerships consisting of four from Nordcapital, one from CMA CGM S.A., two from Hyundai Merchant Marine Co., Ltd., two from P_O Nedlloyd, two from Bravo, two from Zodiac and Nine from Zim.
Meanwhile, HSHI has delivered four containerships to ER and three containerships to CMA CGM S.A. so far.
