Keel Laying for FPSO

The first block of the keel for a 321,000-dwt AKPO FPSO ordered by Total of France was laid in No. 2 Dock, HSHI on August 28.
182 blocks will be erected for the FPSO in No. 2 Dock and the FPSO will be launched in January 2007. After post-outfitting work is finished in May, 2006, the FPSO will be delivered to HHI for Topside erection.
The FPSO will measure 310m in length, 61m in width, 30.5m in depth with 13 cargo holds and will refine 188,000 barrels of crude oil a day in the sea near Nigeria after delivery.
Meanwhile, HSHI commenced construction work for the former ship of two 82,000 cbm LPG carrier ordered by AP Moller in Denmark on August 14.
