HSHI held a naming ceremony for a 318,000-dwt VLCC ordered by SAMCO of Saudi Arabia on November 22 and delivered the ship on the same day.
The ship was named SAMCO SCANDINAVIA by Mrs. Miyoung von Platen, wife of Mr. Henrik von Platen, executive vice president of Samco in the presence of Mr. Bengt Hermelin, managing director of SAMCO, Mr. Kang Soo-hyun, President _ CEO of HSHI and 80 other guests.
The ship measures 333m in length, 60m in width, 30.4m in depth with a service speed of 16knots.
The ship is the first of three 318,000-dwt VLCCs ordered by SAMCO, while HSHI delivered three 318,000-dwt VLCCs to SAMCO in 2003.
